Buffalo Bills Trade Out of First Round of 2024 NFL Draft
Bills Send No. 28 Pick to Chiefs for Future Considerations
Buffalo Prioritizes Tight End Dalton Kincaid in First Round
Detroit, MI - The Buffalo Bills have decided to trade out of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, sending their No. 28 overall pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for future considerations. The move comes after the Bills traded up to No. 25 overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft to select Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane spoke to the media after the trade, explaining that the team was pleased with its haul on Day 1 of the draft and felt that it was in their best interest to move out of the first round in 2024.
"We're excited about the players we were able to add to our roster this year, and we're confident that they can make an immediate impact," Beane said. "We feel that trading out of the first round in 2024 gives us the flexibility to add more depth to our team in future drafts or potentially make a move up in the draft to select a specific player."
The Bills' decision to trade out of the first round is a sign that the team is confident in its current roster and believes that it can compete for a Super Bowl in the near future. The team has a number of talented players on both sides of the ball, including quarterback Josh Allen, running back James Cook, and wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
The 2024 NFL Draft will continue on April 27th and 28th with Rounds 2-7. The Bills currently have nine picks remaining in the draft, including two picks in the second round.
