Ancient Mexican Dog Breed: The Xoloitzcuintle
A Hairless Wonder
The Xoloitzcuintle, or Xolo for short, is an ancient Mexican dog breed with a unique appearance. It is known for its hairless skin, which can vary in color from black to brown to gray. The Xolo is also known for its long, lean body and its erect ears.
Three Sizes
The Xolo exists in three sizes: toy, miniature, and standard. Toy Xoloitzcuintles are the smallest, measuring between 25 and 35 cm in height. Miniature Xoloitzcuintles are slightly larger, measuring between 36 and 45 cm in height. Standard Xoloitzcuintles are the largest, measuring between 46 and 60 cm in height.
All three sizes of Xoloitzcuintles are known for their affectionate and loyal nature. They are also intelligent and easy to train. The Xolo is a great choice for families with children or for people who live in apartments.
