Jacoby Jones, the former NFL receiver and kick returner who helped the Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII with the longest play in Super Bowl history, has died at the age of 40, according to statements released Sunday.

Jones, who was known for his blazing speed and electrifying play, scored two touchdowns in the Ravens' 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. His 109-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second half of the game remains the longest in Super Bowl history.

Jones played for nine seasons in the NFL, including stints with the Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, and Ravens. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the NFL's All-Pro team in 2012.
